Re: Sickest STI to date
Nice, I have a Zero sport rear spoiler and trunk in WRB. I gave Tommy a Zero sport rear bumper and side skirts.

Re: Sickest STI to date
Is the Trunk pre-drilled? If not will you consider selling? Been wanting to run without a rear spoiler. Please let me know...
Re: Sickest STI to date
Yeah, Ed it has some holes already from the Zero sports spoiler. I was thinking of the same thing running without a spoiler but it is WRB so i am still debating. I'll let you know

Re: Sickest STI to date
Thanks Jay, So you were the one who got to that filpped WRX with the ZERO Sports body kit, I was going to get the same parts and went back to the yard to find it gone.... Let me know if your willing to sell the trunk...with our without the spoiler...
Re: Sickest STI to date
im thinking of removing my sti wing and seal the trunk...i didnt think it'll look good but it looks sweet on that car!
Re: Sickest STI to date
I'm thinking it all depends on the cars stance...visually with his front end dropped more the car looks better without the wing...just me...
Re: Sickest STI to date
My plan before was to have a FMIC, have a reverse hood scoop with an oil cooler in place of the TMIC and then have a deck lid spoiler.
I wanted a no spoiler trunk just to save weight for Autocrossing.

Re: Sickest STI to date
Solid...would like to be a part of the initial install...what brand FMIC are you going with....As for weight savings..might consider Carbon fiber hood / trunk and maybe roof...only thing is your wallet gets alot lighter as well....

Re: Sickest STI to date
well carbon fiber is nice and all but the stock hood is aluminum so it might weight the same or stock might be lighter!!!

Re: Sickest STI to date
yupyup aluminum the easier way to check and i learned this from a shop owner/tuner/racer is to tap with your finger nails on the aluminum part and with a steel part like the roof and you will hear and different sound like a crisper ting on the aluminum....
but carbon fiber looks really nice and gets more attention though!

Re: Sickest STI to date
i wonder, is there a significant weight difference, provided the shape of the part is identical, between Aluminum and Carbon Fiber? I know there is a difference since composite is now used for airplanes nowadays and also the tensile strength factor.
But i guess going composite is a luxury for those that can afford it, or want it BAD enough...

Re: Sickest STI to date
yupyup it is on how bad you want the look and stuff i guess... but not lighter...like the mbenz s class they when the factory changed into carbon fiber for that sporty look they ended up having the car heavier than they started from stock1

Re: Sickest STI to date
another idea i though was good came from Arvin. it was a last minute thing that was supposedly for UPI but did not follow through. He wanted a SCG graphic on his car just like Ron has, I think it would look very cool if that had happened. Our sticker vendor makes these types of graphics and installs them too!!
Actually thought of doing this to my car...but the fear of removing the vinyl sticker kind of became a hindrance.
