Anyone know of any on-island businesses or recommended shops who do powder coating. Would like to powder coat my BBS Wheels Black....If so, please advise.

Summit racing sales powder coating gun for DIY. I have a recent catalog that i normally recieve from Summit Racing. Here is the price quote on the products.

Powder Coating Gun: SUM-01-06100 $139.95
Powder 1.5oz Container: $3.95

Equipment:
An oven that heats up at least 350 to 400 degrees, and will fit the rims.

If you really think about it, you will probably spend more to have someone do it for you VS you prepping yourself and coating. it's a good investment. I hope this will help you out.

Dont really wanna try this myself....espesially 1st time on BBS wheels and yes finding an oven large enough even for one wheel will pose a problem. I was hoping that a shop here had a set up already. Looks like I may have to go with paint or just keep them stock gold.

There was a guy at the DRAG Forum that did powder coating at a good price. I inquired to have the front rim on my RC51 powder coated red.

I will look for that link and post it here.

Well I thought it was a good idea...Just read in SportsCar Magazine; "When BBS produces a wheel with a powder-coated finish, that process has been engineered into the design of that wheel, once it leaves the factory it should not be powder coated." So i guess i should be looking at paint.

SCCA membership has paid off very good articles in the Sports Car Magazine.

I kind of like the gold rims with the Blue WRC rather than black.

True...the gold is cool with the blue...its just a little bit to stand-out for me....Im leaning towards a gun metal or darker color wheel. I may just keep the BBS's the way they are and save some mula to purchase a new set 18X8 in black. Any suggestions on light weight 18" wheels? Also looking at Dunlops Direzzas for tires as recommended by Jesse...

Check the Tire Rack, I got mine for a good deal. They were on sale and they ship to Guam via USPS Priority Mail.
